Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR) system works by compressing secondary steam generated by the evaporator using a high-efficiency steam compressor. This process converts electrical energy into thermal energy, increasing the pressure and temperature of the secondary steam. The heated steam is then recirculated to the evaporation chamber to heat the product, allowing continuous reuse of the latent heat of vaporization. The system requires only minimal mechanical energy input from the compressor, eliminating the need for primary steam as a heating medium.
Evaporator Type | Energy Consumption (kWh/ton water) |
---|---|
Falling Film | 20-45 |
Forced Circulation | 30-60 |
Climbing Film | 15-40 |
